Going to Paris

  • By car

Motorways A1, A3, A4, A6 and A13 go to Paris. Before entering the city you will get to the ring-road (to understand the ringroad see: http://en.parisinfo.com/paris-map/arrivals-departures/by-car/). If you can, try to avoid arriving between 5 p.m and 8 p.m because of the traffic.

  • By Train

Paris has seven railway stations: Gare du Nord, Gare de l’Est, Gare de Lyon, Gare Montparnasse, Gare de Bercy, Gare Saint-Lazare, Gare d’Austerlitz. Many metro lines stop in each station. Once you are arrived, take the metro connection that will take you to your hostel.

  • By plane

Paris has two international airports both located outside the city. To reach Paris from Orly Airport take the Orlybus. It takes 30 minutes to get to Paris and the ticket will cost you 6.30€. If you are arriving at Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport, take to Roissybus (45 to 60 minutes trip, 8.90€ per ticket) or the RER B (around 30 minutes to get to the city center, 8.40€ per ticket).

  • By coach

Paris-Gallieni is Paris’ international coach station. It is located outside the city. It will take you 20 minutes to reach the city center by metro.

  • Taxis in Paris

Paris counts over 15 000 taxis that operate night and day. It is probably the easiest mean of transport in Paris however we do not recommand you to use them for they are very expensive. As an example it will cost you 60€ to go from Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport to the city center.

DO NOT EVER GET ON A CAR THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE “TAXI PARISIEN” ILLUMINATED SIGN ON ITS ROOF EVEN IF THE DRIVER TELLS YOU THAT HE IS A TAXI DRIVER.
